ADPP-GB | HELP ME HELPING THEM
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Due to your massive support, the unpredictable and global success of Andrà Tutto Bene, brought me among other things, the chance to have a more significant role on the fight against COVID-19 and that was when I started thinking about the best way I could possibly help.
One of the things that has always worried me ever since the beginning of all this was to think that if we in Europe, with good health care systems are having so many problems fighting COVID-19, then how would some of the poorest countries in the world even stand a chance of giving it a fair fight. With that in mind I decided that my help, no matter how small it could be, should be going on that direction.
On that moment I picked up my phone and called one my best friends, photographer and nurse Timothy Lima who had recently been on a humanitarian mission in Guinea-Bissau (for his second time). Besides having an active role on this mission, Timothy also did an incredible job of photo-coverage. Those photographs ended being part of a photography exhibition named “Filhos da Luz“ (Sons of the Light) which was displayed in Angra do Heroísmo's Museum.
Timothy dove in the country's culture and lived it close enough to come back to Portugal with a strong and contagious affection for Guinea-Bissau and it's people.
He was the one who introduced me to Osvaldo Coutinho from ADPP-GB (Help and Development of the People for the People) and told me: -”you have to meet him, he's got a heart the size of this world”.
After meeting and having a chat with Osvaldo I could tell what he meant by that and I soon realized that my decision was taken and that was the moment when this partnership became solidified.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
1.BY LISTENING AND SHARING ANDRÀ TUTTO BENE:
A significant part of all proceeds obtained with Andrà Tutto Bene will be given to ADPP-GB, this means that every single time you listen or share this song on any digital streaming service, you're actually contributing directly to this cause.
2.BUY ONE OF THE 100 COPIES “HOPES & DREAMS” DONATED TO THIS CAUSE:
I've decided to add a little extra help, there's a batch of 100 copies of my record Hopes and Dreams currently selling on my web store. 100% of all proceeds from those sales (12€ per copy) will be given to ADPP-GB. To this value only the price of shipping will be added.
When you buy this record, your name will be featured on the wall of donators to ADPP-GB on my website. All records will be signed and packed by myself and shall be delivered with a personal thank you message!
3.BUY TIMOTHY LIMA'S PHOTO PRINT:
Timothy also decided to have an active role in this and so he gave of me os of his prints from the exhibition to be sold with all proceeds reverting to this cause. That print is also available on my web store and will also be signed and packed by him with a personal thank you message.

No Mama Guin initiative (No Na Tadja COVID-19)
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a state of emergency to Guinea-Bissau with very strict rules regarding mobility from region to region or even inside Bissau (circulation is only permitted from 07h00 to 11h00),
gatherings were prohibited and with that, street markets were closed and working rights along with other constitutional rights were removed. With all these social confinement measures, Guinea-Bissau is now on an emergency situation that is having a devastating impact on the economy with a lot of people who lost their jobs being forced to be home without any income, a lot of them in isolated villages with no food and no possible way to access it. Without external help, adding to the inherent danger of the pandemic, these people are in actual risk of starvation.
At this moment there are military forces patrolling the neighborhoods of Bissau that don't allow anyone to get in or out of the city with reports of abuse of authority.
Food supplies are starting to run out and the possibility to buy food is very restrict (prices have also been heavily inflated).
ADPP-GB's actions have a special focus on more vulnerable populations and so they have created a system of social protection to provide support to people who are having more difficulty accessing food and medication. For that porpoise, distribution points of food and medication were created across the cities and villages of Guinea-Bissau.
With the proceeds raised from this partnership, ADPP-GB intends to create a food kit, that will consist of basic products like rice, dough, dry food or canned food and fresh products like meat, fish, vegetables and fruit.
With these kits, ADPP-GB intends to make daily distributions to all families who are being signalized at this moment as the most debilitated, preventing them from leaving home in a desperate attempt to find food or from starving to death in their homes.
ADPP-GB's main mission is to create long term opportunities of economical, social and cultural development to the most vulnerable. Acting mainly in rural areas with difficult access. Their efforts intend to contribute on improving life conditions of these people on an integrated and holistic sense.
